We are students — and soon to be undergraduates in robotics and artificial intelligence. But before we design machines, we want to understand people.
Every one of us has a grandparent, a neighbour or a friend who moved into a care home. We saw how tired the caregivers were and how quiet the residents had become — and we also saw that the technology the news calls “revolutionary” rarely reaches the place where it is needed most. So we decided not to wait for a degree: we are starting now, with the most important part — understanding.
We visit care homes free of charge, we watch, we ask questions, and we write up what we learned. That is all. We do not sell a product, we do not sign contracts and we do not ask for money. For now we are simply doing research — because we believe a good solution can only be built from a real problem.
During and after our studies we want to develop hardware and software that genuinely eases the burden on caregivers and improves residents’ quality of life. The foundation we build it on is the experience you share with us today.
What we offer is always free. The research is our education; your time is the “payment” we gratefully accept.
The home belongs to the people living in it. We arrive quietly and humbly, and ask only as much as you choose to share.
We promise no miracles. We are students at the start of the road — but committed ones, and we share every conclusion with you.
